YUPRO Placement’s Michelle Sims Named to SIA’s 2023 Global Power 150 Women in Staffing List

The CEO is recognized for the third consecutive year for her outstanding leadership and commitment to serving historically excluded talent

AUSTIN, Texas, November 16, 2023 — YUPRO Placement, the nation’s leading skills-first placement firm, announced that its CEO, Michelle Sims, has been named to the 2023 Global Power 150 Women in Staffing List for the third consecutive year. The list is powered by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions that recognizes the most influential women in staffing, the top 100 in the Americas and the top 50 internationally. Michelle was acknowledged for advancing a social mission to support historically excluded talent by connecting them to mission-driven organizations.

Michelle carried YUPRO Placement to new heights as she led the rebrand and recharter of the organization in February in conjunction with launching the nationwide campaign #SkillsFirstJobsNow. The campaign’s goal is to drive socioeconomic change through the adoption of skills-first hiring practices. These practices create equitable job opportunities for the 66% of American workers who lack a 4-year degree.

This year Michelle also guided her team to become the largest nationwide upskilling partner with IBM SkillsBuild in reaching a milestone with over 5,000 active users of the upskilling platform.

Michelle’s passion for diversity is boundless, and in April 2023 she led her organization to make a substantial monetary investment in the nonprofit organization Jobs for Humanity. This investment allowed YUPRO Placement to go global and provide career readiness and job search resources to a globally diverse talent community that self-identifies as LGBTQIA+, refugees, neurodivergent, Black professionals, and blind talent. 

Michelle is a 2023 Forbes Business Council member, a member of the Women in Leadership Council for the American Staffing Association, a member of the nonprofit Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), and is on the Women’s Leadership Board, Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School.
