Kathy Hardy

Kathy Hardy

President and Co-founder

Kathy has over 25 years of executive staffing experience as an SVP and a President in both national and international staffing markets managing up to 350M in annual revenue in both traditional and pharmaceutical staffing. Her career has been distinguished by entrepreneurial endeavors in fast-growth, multi-site organizations, and her exceptional ability for building professional high-performance teams.  She developed and ran the Leaders of Tomorrow Program for a large service organization in the US, graduating over 120 new leaders over a 3-year time span.  Kathy continues to run her own training and development company, specializing in leadership development and supporting opportunity youth and the companies who hire them.

As the CEO and Co-Founder of YUPRO, PBC (Year Up Professional Resources) Kathy translates her staffing experience into a new type of placement agency for Year Up Graduates exclusively.  Year Up is a one-year program targeting inner city youth and bringing them into a curriculum focused on business communication, IT and Finance training with a 6-month internship. The 3-year-old YUPRO organization is a Public Benefit Corporation with the social purpose of providing career opportunities and support to the Year Up alumni, while offering a socially responsible workforce solution for organizations eager for new talent.  Of the current 10,000 alums YUPRO serves, in three short years YUPRO has placed over 300 in livable wage jobs in a professional track. The exceptional retention rates these contractors and temp to permanent placements achieve is credited to both their knowledge and skills developed through Year Up, and the on-going one on one mentoring and coaching program that every associate receives throughout their membership with YUPRO.  YUPRO provides resume and job hunting support, and career mentoring during and after acquiring a position for these talented, self-motivated young adults who took responsibility of their own lives when they enrolled in the Year Up Program.

Kathy studied Psychology at the University of Minnesota and now lives in Colorado with her family.

“Year Up alumni pursue their careers with determination, resilience and a commitment to support one another.  These are key traits that employers want when they seek talent for their companies.  YUPRO will be there to make the connection!”

Anita Alden

Regional Vice President - East

Anita possesses extensive experience building and leading high performing sales and marketing teams for small and mid-sized businesses. As a former sales and marketing executive, she led the development and execution of initiatives that diversified business, established strategic partnerships, and strengthened overall business performance. Earlier in her career, she was tapped to recruit top talent to fill critical leadership positions for a variety of organizations and deepen the bench strength of many sales and service teams – including her own.

Over the years, she has developed a deep appreciation for the power of coaching and mentoring to bring out the best in employees and colleagues. She’s eager to put her passion and experience to work to help drive the growth of socially responsible talent acquisition in closing the opportunity gap.

“In my experience, attitude and hard work applied to the right opportunity has enabled so many to overcome skill or experience deficits to achieve their greater potential. The differentiator, of course, is getting that opportunity. By working with YUPRO, companies will get access to an extensively vetted pool of untapped talent that just needs “that” opportunity-which in turn will help your organization achieve its greater potential.”
